Advanced Registry Doctor is a feature-filled registry cleaner that offers tools that suit both beginners and advanced users. This application offers both system backups and registry backups, along with optimization tools and a wide selection of registry cleaning features. Advanced Registry Doctor lacks several advanced and customization features, which we found to be a drawback. It also is not as easy to use as several similar applications, but it gets the work done, so you may just have to put in a little more effort to get the end result.

One of the standout features available on this application is its extensive feature set. Advanced Registry Doctor provides many basic features and even offers several additional tools that you will not find in many registry cleaners. Advanced Registry Doctor offers extensive registry cleaning tools such as deleting empty registry keys, checking ComActiveX and looking over application paths and invalid fonts.

The backup features included on this registry cleaner are nice to have, but they are a little difficult to use. These are excellent tools to have if you are an advanced user and know how to use this type of application, but if you are beginner, it can be very overwhelming and frustrating.

Overall, the software does a thorough job of finding errors and offers you information about how serious these errors may be. Errors are categorized as low, medium and high priority. That is a nice touch for the beginner crowd. One standout feature is the ability to choose how to repair registry keys. When you click on the Repair Problems button, you can have Advanced Registry delete an invalid entry, or you can open Registry Editor and fix it yourself.

Advanced Registry Doctor offers several security features, although these tools seem to be geared toward advanced users. Beginners would likely spend time looking for big buttons that say things like "back up my system" rather than selecting "major system settings" from an intimidating list. There is a way to set one backup point; however. It just took us a while to find it.

Help and support options are meager with this application compared to others. There is an email contact that is not that easy to find. We saw no signs of other technical support, which can be invaluable to first-time registry cleaner software users.

There is help to be found in other places, though. While there is no chat or other immediate options, the included explanations are nice. For example, when you click on the registry defragmentation button, there is a full explanation about defragmentation at the top of the window.
